-Brahma-creator god, part of the Triad
-Brahmin-priestly caste, highest level of the caste system
-Brahman-the ultimate reality

-Brahma and Krishna are the most popularly worshiped
-Vishnu-worshiped more in different bodily manifestations, such as Krishna
-Shiva-the destroyer, also very popular
-Perusha-"giant man", early idea of Brahman. He broke up and became the four original castes

-Bhagavad Gita-
-Krishna-avatar of Vishnu,when he speaks of his nature he is speaking about the nature of all things and the interconnectedness of everything
-the distinction between good and evil breaks down because all there is in the end is God

Western vs Hindu ideas of God-
-West-
-God is good and just by nature(morally)
-God is distinct from creation
-God is personal (him, or he)
-it is important which god or religion you worship
-idea of judgement and punishment from God, idea of Hell
-Hinduism-
-God is either both or neither good or evil, he is everything
-God is his creation, he is part of it
-God is impersonal in essence, with personal manifestations (more like an "it")
-idea of universalism-everyone will obtain moksha eventually so there isn't much judgement passed on what god or religion is worshiped
-idea that no matter what god you worship you are really worshiping Brahman anyway, so they expect you to worship the way that your culture expects you to
