*one satsfaction only counters another desire
*person who seeks desire will eventually envy the meditator

2 ways of suffering
*facing the unpleasant
*not seeing the pleasant

Being content with what you have will give you happiness (duh)

Mahayana Parables
*Father tries to get kids out of a burning house, kids are too bus playing. He promises them toys outside and all of them go outside to see them, thus saving them. The father eventually gets the kids carts and other fine toys
*Burning house- represents ignorance and suffering
*carts- represent Theravada Buddhism, a "lure" to attract followers to Buddhas Dharma
*Idea is that Theravada teachings were to attract people like kids to toys, but at some point you have to grow up and thats where Mahayana Buddhists say tehy come in
