Reactions to Buddha
Why didn’t they just call them nuns instead of bhikkhunis?

A process – like ask the question - Are shadows real?

Buddha says the soul does not have an individual existence.

Formation ---acts of will, decisions, intentions
Consciousness—

“Self” is a convenient label for these 5 concurrent processes
When you die you cause another being to be born
Looking at the Buddha is like an early Functionalist

Argument = combining Buddha with western philosophy especially with the book not deciphering Buddha better.
Buddha would deny you as being same person one life to the next
Buddha would deny you as being no the same person from one hour to the next…….

Buddha … No personal identity – nothing which makes you the same person over time … there is nothing that makes you the same person every time.
