Deon - rule
-morality is a matter of following a set of exception less rules which describe rights and responsibilities (duties).
-Motive is everything
-morality=doing your duty because it is your duty
-main motive must be duty because it is right
-having a good will is the only thing of intrinsic value
-a good is the thing which is intrinsically good
-possible other intrinsic goods
1.happiness-evil people don't deserve happiness
2.intelligence-evil genius
3.wit/humor
-morality is intuited(discovered)through pure reason
-egoism is true with regard to desire
-morality is motivated by reason

Shopkeeper example
1.natural(direct)inclination- he is a nice guy, likes being honest
2.indirect inclination - wants to avoid trouble with the law, lost business
3.duty - it is wrong to cheat customers

1 and 2=desire
3=morally praiseworthy
