While reading the handout "Does Morality Need Religion," I thought it would be very interesting to hear what the rest of the class had to say about morality and religion. I have to agree with John Arthur, I do not think you have to be religious to have morals, or to be a good moral person. I have a great example of this, I have a very good friend who does not have a religion at all but she is a very good, solid, moral person. I think morality or having good morals is more based on how you were raised, I don't care if your family is atheists as long as you were raised well and had good moral character then you still have morality without religion. I would like some feedback to see what the rest of the class thinks but I do not think you have to have religion to have morality. Everyone has morality, it may not be good but everyone has it somewhere.
