I have to disagree with this concept. I do not understand why we can't just do something out of the kindness of our hearts. I think that is what most people do. An example would be if I open the door for someone it is just out of kindness, and therefore I am not going to expect anyone else to do it for me. When you say everyone is an egoist that is very stereotypical because everyone is different and we all like to be looked upon differently. Mother Theresa I believe did what she did for others not for herself. Just to say that everyone is egoistic is not very appropriate because some people do like to help others. I think it is like you should treat others how you want to be treated but you shouldn't expect to get paid back for everything you do, sometimes you need to breakdown and do things out of the kindness of your heart.
