9:54 pm and I have just finished watching
my telecourse video. I rewind the tape
and flip through a few channels....

5 minutes later I am very disgusted and
again disappointed with my nation's view
and stereotype of my Black race.

There was a stand off in the show. What I
saw were two white cops driving when all
of a sudden about four to five young adult
Black men open automatic weapon fire
on them. The woman drives the car into
one and kills him. She backs up and
motions for her male partner to get out of
the car and they both do. The black men
are still standing out in the open firing
their weapons non-stop as more police
roll up and take cover, all units scared to
death (I would be too).

One white cop decided to run as a target
so the others could pick off the shooters
and he runs and the Black men are all
shot and killed, miraculously the police
man makes it through alive.

Keep in mind that up to this point every
single cop they show is white and the
villains are all Black. Then there is a
white cop and a half white half Black cop
in a store. The last living villain smashes
into the store singing and notices a white
man he can pick off. He is singing some
rap song while he loads his clip, takes
aim, and then the mixed cop stands up
and kills the other Black man while the
Black villain shoots at him. Turns out a
few seconds later that the Black cop was
shot too and he dies.

5 minutes..... and all this. I have no idea
what proceeded any of this... it was the
last five minutes of the show. I do know
however that it is shows and scenes like
this that feed the fire of stereotype and
racism in my country. So sad...... so
sad..... I am so sick of watching hospital
shows where the gun shot wound
patients are primarily young Black males,
so sick of seeing this image of Black men
holding semiautomatic weapons burned
into our screens, so sick of it...............
Lord, help us.
