After reading chapters 6 and 7, I came to
a rather controversial thought. Perhaps
we SHOULD segregate....?! Not because
blacks or hispanics or whites are inferior
to eachother, but because it would help to
benefit people of each type. I mean, if a
black teacher was teaching black
students, he (or she) would definitely
NOT teach them lower stuff and put them
in disadvantaging tracks because they're
black. A black teacher would know that
they can make it and would encourage
each of his/her students to do so. Maybe
NOT put blacks and whites in seperate
school buildings and have them use
different drinking fountains, but assign
white students to white teachers, and
black students to black teachers, and
hispanic students to hispanic teachers,
etc. Innocently, I think this could greatly
benefit the students because the
teachers' personal convictions and
biases would be more obsolete. Anybody
feel what I'm saying or am I nuts?
