Can you imagine how many people are trying to scam Bill Gates out of his money on an hourly basis? He didn't get his money by throwing it away. I'm not saying he couldn't be doing more, but neither do I know that he could be. Do you? What I do know is that he does indeed help those in need. I know this because if it weren't for his generosity when we had to give up the comfort of our home and uproot our children from everything we know to go to Seattle to live for 5 months while my husband was going through a transplant, we stayed in a tiny one bedroom apartment that he helped fund. Yes, the rent was still $1250 a month, but w/o that building and the funding he helped to provide for it, we would have had nowhere to go and no way to get the transplant my husband so desperately needed. Besides donating to help build and furnish the building, he also put in lines with internet access that was free of charge to those that stayed there at his expense. Yes, I know you are going to tell me that that was not a necessity, but consider this: We had no income, we were in a life and death situation, how were we to keep in contact with family since we had no income to pay for long distance calls? Also, my husband was put on so many medications that also caused other side effects that having the internet to be able to research what was happening and why was also a blessing. While having no income for those 5 months, we were in a clean, safe, warm environment that was furnished with everything one could need and we were also subsidized on our rent courtesy of Mr. Bill Gates which was the only way we were able to be there. So although I understand there are people out there struggling and suffering while others like he has more than he could ever possibly use, I can't say he isn't helping.
