Hello Everyone. My name is Shaunasi D. Sprain. Last semester I took soc204online and really enjoyed the course, so I decided to take this soc205online course. I find this contemporary Sociology very interesting. I'm hearing and understanding the meaning of the Sociological messages and references in music, movies, and news much better in broader, more complete and knowledgeable sociological ways now. I'm seeing the big picture of how things work in our society and seeing how everything fits together in our society more clearly now, because of taking soc204online. I know I'm learning much from these courses.
I'm taking online courses instead of on campus courses so I can stay home with our infant and care for him, he is 14+ months old now. I'm taking this online Sociology course and an online Computer Fundamentals course. I'm just starting to venture outside our home now more this semester, by doing an off campus L.C.C. work study called- the America Reads Federal Work Study Program. I work at a local elementary school, reading with kids, and doing various teacher assistant work for this work study, for 16+ hours per week, until the end of this Winter semester. I may also be taking two cooperative education credit courses which relate to my work study and will give me five credits total. I wouldn't mind earning these extra cooperative education credits as well as my online course credits and the $9 an hour I'll earn for my work study. I'm going to see how I might be able to manage taking these cooperative education courses in addition to my online courses and my work study. I'm glad I have reliable childcare! I'm thinking of pursuing a career as an elementary school teacher or teacher's assistant.
Thanks, Shaunasi
