I think you make an excellent point regarding how people are convinced to accept the caste system as legitimate. This is a point we will build on throughout this class. India isn't the only society, of course, where people who benefit from social inequalities try to convince others to accept them. I would encourage everyone to consider how social inequalities here in the U.S. are "ideologically legitimated."
