Right. I also agree in the conflict theory, mainly because it is not quite as falsifiable as the order theory. Unfortunately, life isn't simple enough to just work hard and eventually become a king or queen.

There are, as the chapter states, those annoying life choices. I often hear people make comments about homeless people such as: "If he/she worked hard, they could've been something instead of a lazy, drunk beggar." Yet it doesn't seem to be that simple.

Aside from other restrictions they may have according to their gender or race, some people are obviously brought up differently than others. i.e.: If you came from an poor/broken/abusive home, with a parent bashing into your brain just how worthless you are (your whole childhood), then you may feel it's impossible to be anything but homeless. In these situations, one's mind simply isn't conditioned for any other life choices.

Anyway, about the order theory, hehe. The rewards aren't equally distributed (as we all know). We all know those darned athletes get paid ass million while the hardest working professors, etc. don't get poop. So yeah, order theory isn't all too super. In fact I hate it. :)
