Wow. I find myself more agreeing with the
Conflict Theory than the Order Theory.
However, both do have some very true
points.

The Order Theory states that we need
inequality in order to find the most
talented people to do the best jobs. It
does seem logical that the people doing
the more important jobs should get better
rewards; or a better point that the more
demanded jobs should get better
rewards. (Teachers should be paid better
because without them, we would be
nowhere. We can't have a doctor if there
is no teacher to teach him how to be.)

The Conflict Theory suggests that
inequality and the unequal distribution of
rewards is based on the interests and
selfishness of the powerful or "upper
classed" instead of what is needed for
the society as a whole. I agree with the
conflict theory in as much as I understand
the traps that the poor get trapped in. The
poor can't afford to get good college
educations, so they can't attain the
highest and best paying jobs, creating a
cycle that prevents them from sending
their children to college, etc, etc. It's a
vicious cycle! So I can see valid points in
both theories.
