1.Describe an occasion which you were caught engaged in a primary deviant act and thus labeled as deviant.

When I was in high school I went to prom and on the way out I stole this huge vase of flowers. I came from a really small town and it just so happens that the vase I had stolen belonged to a popular girl's mom. It was a very ugly vase, certainly nothing special. I kept it in my room for a while but some people at the school told on me. I was called into the principal's office and told I had to bring the vase back or be suspended. The next day I brought it to school and everyone knew. It was really embarrassing, I had to go through a lot of people to get to the principal's office carrying that vase.

2. What were the effects of this label?

A lot of people would not talk to me after this incident. They seriously thought I was a bad seed. Prom is supposed to be so beautiful and there I was stealing. I think I had bad karma from the incident because I was then put in assigned seating next to the girl who had owned the vase.
I haven't stole a vase since and don't plan to again.

My family didn't really care about the vase, I think they thought I was already deviant and if that was the worst thing I did at prom then so be it.
