1. Wife

2. Although I am not married at the moment, I’ve been a wife twice already. That sounds terrible I know but the social norms were not followed in both marriages. If it were a perfect world, the first marriage would have worked out. I do know what it means to be a good wife.

a. Being a wife means to respect and love the person you are with. You must be faithful at all costs and remain loyal to the person you call your husband. Being a wife consists of giving 200% when you may not receive 50%. There are no lies, no secrets and extreme trust. Believing in the social norms I didn’t’ create is easy when you choose the right person to be with. These norms were created by a higher power and I don’t question them.

b. The social rewards are unlimited when both follow the “rules.” You are well thought of by your neighbors, peers and colleagues. If a person can maintain a wonderful relationship then they are worth getting to know. They are reliable and nice to be around. It makes my creator happy. My family reaps the benefits of a strong marital relationship and hopefully I’ve created a role model for my children to follow.

c. Not following the norms creates havoc. People distrust you. Your home is disrupted. If you cheat on your spouse, you’re labeled as a slut. Your children suffer immensely. If a wife cheats (or a husband) hearts are broken, trust is destroyed and it’s unacceptable to the creator of the norms. Not only have you destroyed your name, honor and values, you’ve crossed and dismayed your creator.
