Hunting.
Hunting has been a way of existence for many cultures throughout history. The Native American people hunted for the survival of their tribes. Not only was this a source of food, but skins were used as clothing, the building of shelters, even the covering of boats. The Native American people admired and respected all of nature and thanked the animals for allowing themselves to become substinence for their people. This is all an idealistic approach to hunting.
Unfortunately, many unthinking people over the years have corrupted this, by game hunting for the sport. They relish the thrill of the kill. Animals are slaughtered for their skins, or portions of their bodies which is deemed valuable, while the remainder of the carcass is tossed away to rot. Many animals have been hunted to the brink of extinction by this materialistic behavior.
