A. Identify the folkway you violated and describe how you violated it.

I went to the movies with a friend. I did not tell this particular friend that I had seen the movie. During the entire movie I talked out loud and would tell my friend what was going to happen in a loud enough voice for everyone to hear.

B. Describe your observations. How did you feel? How did others feel?

I noticed that I made a lot of people mad and had to stop before they kicked me out. I felt really stupid...like a complete dork!! My friend vowed never to go to the movies with me again ~ even after I told her about the assignment.

C. What insights into how norms function did you gain?

I learned that good old common courtesy never goes out of style.
