1. I chose the conflict paradigm.

2a. The conflict paradigm was chosen by me because I believe that there will always be conflict to gain "what the people want". I do not necessarily agree with it but everyone is always in conflict. The text also states that the powerful will use illegal acts to get what they want and I believe this.

2b. I think that the conflict paradigm is supported because it says on page 56 that "The powerful use and abuse the powerless, thereby sowing the seeds of their own destruction." Things that happen don't always come about from a positive event. Change is constant.

3a. I order paradigm is inferior because it believes that society acts in harmony together. I think with everything going on today that proves to be not true. During this tragedy there are still people trying to make a buck and use others to gain.

3b. The order paradigm is proved inferior by the statement on page 54 that says, "Societies are therefore basically stable units." With the crime and other horrible events that occur in the USA, societies are not stable.

4. I think that the conflict paradigm is more fitting in todays world because no matter what the people want, someone with more money, more power, more contacts can always change it.
