I think that we as a nation wish we
could believe in order. But right now with
everything going on with the embassy,
pentagon and oversees with Afghanistan
Osamid Bin Laden it makes more
sense to believe in the conflict
perspective.
I think that us Americans want to
believe in the order part of it more. For
instance we say the Pledge of Allegiance
and the Star Spangle banner when were
in grade school and we try to raise our
kids with those values. But some of our
kids do not believe in those thoughts, I
mean look at the gangs, vandalism, Ku Klux Klan
Klux Klan, and physical violence on the
gays and lesbian in our society.
Then we look at the issues of race
and social class. I mean we dislike
looking at status of social class and race
but I truly think a bit of all of us do it. We
may not try to do it but a little of all of us
has looked down on someone for being
different than the norm, if it was when
were to young to know any better or if we
do it now. I mean we have lumber jacks,
lawyers,doctors, plumbers, teacher and
the disabled among our community.
Harmony is something we can only
dream of as a world but maybe we all can
work toward as a country. But eventually as
a world, hopefully in the near future we
will be able to get ride of all our negative
beliefs, stereotypes, violence, animosity
and our negative political views. Then we
can all get along as a peaceful and caring
world.
