I this this is a great project. Divorce is a huge issue which affects all involved. I would be curious to see if you could get older married to couples to answer questions like:

1. Did you stay married because you were happy? or because of societal pressure to stay married (divorce being unaccepted)? or did they stay together "for the kids"? or did the women stay because of a lack of financial independence?

I myself wonder if the above reasons kept women in marriages back then, or if something has really changed in "current times" to affect the divorce rate.
