A: The rising unemployment rate increases domestic violence and child abuse.

B: My research methods would be existing sources and interview or observation. I would use the methods because they are relative to researching my thesis.

C: I would gather historical data from the census bureau relating to the unemployment rate for a historical period of time. The library would be a great resource for this data. I would gather data from the Department of Children Services and several non-profit agencies in our area to retrieve information relating to abuse records. The Lane County Sheriff and City Police department would also be where I would perform interviews relating to abuse cases, historically and current.

D: Ethical issues I may be confronted with will possibly be trying to disclose information relating to current cases of abuse. I relate ethical issues in areas of unlawful acts, trying to obtain self advancement at the expense of others and/or racial discrimination. I don't feel that these concepts of ethical issues would come into play with my research, it would be in areas of trying to interview and obtain information relating to current unresolved cases of abuse.

NOTE: I feel compelled to write that this topic is a simple one meaning it is more of a known fact. Unemployment creates a stress on people that makes them behave abnormally. This is due possibly to their fright of not being able to provide an income, or low self-esteem. Regardless of the reason it is real, it is a fact that the issues are related.
I am afraid for our local population right now. Our society is being drastically effected by the high unemployment rate and the repercussion of this is not pleasant.
It is my belief that society has demanded stronger support for the victims of abuse, unfortunately they have to experience the abuse to obtain the support. Society has demanded support because they are more aware today of the amount and severity of abuse cases now than we were 10+ years ago. For this I am thankful.
