This is an excellent topic. I'm with you 100%! Years back, when I first moved to Eugene, I felt sorry for those who were begging for money. I wasn't used to seeing this and was kind of naive. I went to Albertsons in Santa Clara and saw a man with a sign begging for money in from of the grocery store. I felt a pang so instead of giving him money, I bought him a sack of unperishable groceries. I handed it to him, he accepted graciously. Only later did I find out he was the man who was attaching women in the parking lot's of Albertsons and Fred Meyer! I was stunned. I realize some are indeed in need of assistance. How do you tell? Are they walking around the corner to their SUV and going home? Thanks for sharing...
