Homework on Social Research Question:

a.) The social research question I would like to research would be where does Affluenza come from in our society, meaning why do people try so hard to keep up with the Jones's only to become overworked, stressed, fed up and in debt?

b.)The research method I would use would be a survey. I feel I could provide the best results with this method.

c.) I think I would survey as many people as I could. I would send the survey to people's e-mail that way I would reach many people and not have to waste paper or money on stamps. I would ask one hundred questions first starting with demographics. The questions would then report to me the spending habits of the individual and finally the more personal aspects. The personal aspects would include how they feel emotionally about their finances. I would ask them if they like their job, are they stressed over money, in debt, do they shop when they are down, would they rather be shopping right now and so on.

d.) I don't think I would face ethical problems with this survey. The problem with surveys though is people may lie. To minimize this I would offer cash incentives upon completion of the survey.
