Dear All: When I went to take this last test I had all my info for this test all organized well in my mind. But when I actually went to take the test, slowly, my info. started to disorganize. Some of the names of the terms and their definitions were similar making it harder to clearly distinguish the meanings for the answers to some the multiple choice questions, I think. I got thrown for a loop on some of the questions, I think because of the wording for some of the multiple choice questions. Then, I ran out of time before I had the chance to answer all of the mini essays thoroughly, clearly, and accurately. I hardly had time to start the essays and definitely didn't have time to modify my answers or elaborate on them! I thought the questions on the multiple choice test were thought provoking and interesting. I like getting the whole picture of our social structures, of our social dynamics, then more slowly, filling in the blanks, so that the structures really make sense to me and I have time to really understand the concepts well and the interconnectedness of all the concepts, well. I think I get too rushed sometimes to complete tests and other work.
Is anyone involved in a Sociology discussion group on campus or in Eugene? It would be nice to get together and spend more time discussing these intricate sociological constructs.
It's a heck of a lot of information about Sociology, in a small amount of time and space.
I'm liking both our texts pretty well since they're more contemporary, in depth, bold, honest, and geared for real truth and understanding, it seems to me.
