Dear Dietra: I think we think in fragments often. I think this is due to our fast-moving, commercial driven, consumeristic society geared to convienence. I don't think we often have time to think in full complete unfragmented ways. I think our attention is split on too many thing often encouraging fragmented thinking. I know that between t.v, friends, mates, children, radio, telephone, and the computer( my assignments I have erased accidentally before saving and before posting a few times. When I do this I can lose my train of thought and when I have to go back and rewrite an entire assignment from scratch again I feel I'm just taking fragments of my previous completed answer and putting these fragments back together in the best way I can to create a new completed assignment. I know that when I responded to our last conference-section E, that I had thought out and written quite a response but then I erased the response before I had time to save it or post it and as a result my final response which I posted to our WebBoard was a more pieced together completed summary than was my initial response. My mind has to think in quick takes so I can attend to everything. I have a one year old, who I care for each day every day, need I say more. I would like to have much more fluid thinking, speaking, and writing style. I appreciate fragments because short and sweet is efficient and gets the job done but I would like more wisdom in accomplishing more completion and fluidness in my life rather than more fragmentation.
On a positive note, I notice how beautiful light is when it's fragmented and I see all the beautiful fragmented light patterns/ colorful rainbows created. So, perhaps fragmenting things gives us a form of beauty and view of life we wouldn't have without fragments in life.
Thanks, Shaunasi
