The situation is the s= ame as my "emergency" post on the site states. I am waiting to find out fro= m the administrators how to make the group function work. Meanwhile, I am a= ble to see and grade everyone's assignments so we will continue with the Ju= ly 7th deadline for essay # 1 and I will try to get the group function goin= g for week # 2. I will forward this to the administrator so he will see wha= t you have said. I have a feeling that it is my inexperience with Moodle an= d that he will tell me something delightfully simple and I will say "duh" != ! Thanks for your patience and for the info. I am continuing to read and resp= ond to my copious email and I look forward to reading your writing. By the = way, I did just mess around in settings and removed the "individual" aspect= of the group function. If you want to experiment and post again--hmm--that= would be nice if that is all I needed to have done. In other words, maybe = my setting it differently so that theoretically there are no separate group= s, though we can see I have created them, might do the trick. That probably= makes no sense at all. When I look in Moodle at all the discussion forums=20 available, I see I am subscribed to the general discussion one and no=20 others. When I go to group #5 (my assigned group), I am able to post, but= =20 not to read mine or other's posts. If I try to read a post, I am told I do= =20 not have permission, or that I must be subscribed. Then, when I try to=20 subscribe (upper right corner, option in blue), I am told that I cannot=20 subscribe unless I am a member of the group. So. That is that. I just=20 wanted to let you know exactly the problem I (and it appears others) are=20 having.
