I forced subscription. Why did some participants get it and not others? Will this be different in the Fall when all participants appear in the Enrolled box in the Students link?

If not do I just need to email everyone through ExpressLane?

You are ahead of things. You can't sent out an annoucement from Moodle without any of the students actually being enrolled in the Moodle course.

Banner and Moodle are separate.
Being "in" the Banner/ExpressLane system "allows" the student to login to Moodle and join your class.
Once they appear on your Moodle class list (Participants), they can get your announcement emails.
What settings they've chosen on their individual Moodle Profiles determines whether they get external email from Moodle. Look at your own edit profile link/tab and take a look to see if the email address is enabled or disabled.

Hi Joe,

Sunday night I sent out a general email using the Announcement tool, to which everyone is subscribed. I sent out instructions on how to access the course, including enrollment key. But when I went to the orientation, more than half the students had not received it. So far today I have heard from another dozen who did not get it. I have told everyone to check their email on record with Lane and to look in their Bulk folders. But most have told me that their email is correct and their is nothing in their folder. Any ideas why this happened?
