Hi Joe -
Can we take an existing moodle course and set it to be a 'meta' course? =
The regular CRN students are already there, but they want to add another =
CRN to track these highschool students.

Dear Linda,

I=D5m writing to give you a =D2head=D5s up=D3 on an exciting pilot project =
that could affect your class this Fall. You might have one or two pilot pr=
oject students in your class.

We are launching a pilot project with the Bethel School District for about =
a dozen 5th year seniors. Most of these students are 18 years old. A few=
are 17. They have been hand picked to experience Lane Community College a=
nd continue their education under the Expanded Options Program. The School=
District is paying for their college course(s).

These students would likely have been coming to Lane anyway, but have the b=
enefit to be in this pilot project.

In order to track the students, we will be setting up a separate CRN for yo=
ur course. Other than the tracking, they are not different than any other =
student in your class. They meet all the pre-requisites and have taken all=
 the appropriate placement tests.

Jill Siegfried is their assigned Lane counselor. She has met with all of t=
hem and is helping them navigate the Lane enrollment system. I , through t=
he High School Connections Office, will be working with the school district=
to ascertain how well this works and take care of the billing processes.

Of course, if the student is under 18, you have the option to request the s=
tudent not be in your class. However, we think there should be few, if any=
, issues - and Jill is here to help support the student be successful.

If you have any concerns, please let me know. I=D5m looking forward to wor=
king with you.

Laurie
