OK, folks: Winter 2007 is now up in production.  Classes and instructors have been loaded.  I haven't yet had a chance to make the quiz modifications; I'll start on that later today.

Some changes since the test instance:

- The "child courses" link in the Administration block within metacourses has been replaced by the Metacourses link--the same one that shows up on the Admin block on the main page (for course creators).  This means that instructors don't have any way to manage metacourses except for the Metacourses form that I've written.  If the form proves buggy or unwieldy, I'll just reactivate the Child courses link.  (I'm going to make clear to faculty that the new form is in test mode.)

- Administrators will see the Child courses link within the course administration block.  That's so I can create and modify metacourses if faculty are having trouble.  I will also make clear in my message to faculty that they can contact me about any difficulty with metacourses.

Also, the documentation for the metacourse form isn't finished yet.  I'm disabling the link until it's ready, but it should be good to go by the end of the morning.  I'll put it up on teach, in the same directory as the old metacourse doc.

I've left the format of the course names and short names as they were in the test instance.  I do have one concern: the length of the breadcrumbs trail will probably cause more instructors to complain about the problem of the content portion of the page being shunted off the right-hand side of the page ala Jennifer Love's problem--particularly in metacourses, which will by default have longer short names due to including the CRNs (which may cause me to revisit the naming convention for metacourses--we'll find out).  I will mention this in my message, and suggest that those who may be having problems can deal with it for now by using one of the other themes (like the stock formal white), which don't suffer from the same issue.  If I have a chance, I'll also see if I can figure out how the main theme manages to avoid this problem.

I'll probably send the announcement to faculty later this afternoon.
