Folks,

I've set up lms2.lanecc.edu (the Moodle test server) for us to use for troubleshooting and experimentation.  In point of fact, it's been available for that all along, but I've done a couple of things in the last two days:

- Restricted access to it, so that students and faculty can't log in.  This is mostly to prevent students from logging in and getting two tries at a quiz that's only supposed to allow one.
- Removed all email addresses, so that we can't accidentally spam an entire class.  All email addresses have been set to ' '.  That's not to say that we can't add them back in for experimenting (since email is one area where such experiments are needed, we'll clearly have to do that at some point), but I feel more comfortable if we have to add email addresses manually than if they're all right there waiting to be (accidentally mis-) used.

To get access, just go to lms2.lanecc.edu, and it will automatically refresh to Fall 2006.  Before you get the main Moodle screen, you'll need to enter the admin username and password (same as for the admin account).  Once you do that successfully, you'll get the standard Moodle page where you can then log in either as admin or as yourself.  (The test setup has all the same student and faculty accounts as the production one.  The only difference is the need to authenticate as admin before the main page loads.)

Also, note that at present, this site is not available from off-campus.  I can make it available if you think we need it.
