Guys,

As our last exchange illustrated, Internet Explode--er, Internet Bombe--er, I mean, Internet EXPLORER 7 is upon us.  IT's position has been to tell on-campus users in very strong terms to avoid using it.  I am inclined to do the same for home users (faculty and students); we obviously cannot prevent them from installing it, but since it is really an unknown quantity, I think that we should at least warn folks that it may cause problems.

To that end, I'm considering posting a message on the Moodle front page about it, along these lines:

"Moodle users, please note: Internet Explorer 7 for Windows has recently been released.  Since this software is new and untested in our environment, we strongly recommend that you not upgrade to this version at this time.  In some cases, it will already have been installed, and we will do our best to resolve any Moodle-related problems with it, wherever possible we advise you to either use an earlier version of Internet Explorer, or to download and install Firefox.  Once we have tested IE 7 and verified that it works with Moodle, we will post a message here."

This would be supplemented by similar messages in the FAQ on on the SHeD's Moodle page.
