Man, I'm thankful to hear that.  :-|

We won't be able to go to 1.7 for Summer, but I still plan on 1.8 for Fall.

That's one thing I meant to discuss with you and Joe when we got together, but since the conference call got pushed back, I probably should bring it up now.

Issues for moving to 1.8 over the Summer that I foresee:

- Incompabitility of certain modules we're presently using (e.g., MyFiles)
- Training: Moodle 1.8 looks rather different (although mostly in things like the Administration block, although roles may be a bit of a new concept).  How will we introduce faculty to the new look and feel if most of them are gone over the Summer, and we have no faculty webmasters here?
- New functionality: I am planning to introduce an internal email block into the Administrative instance of Moodle in order to test it with the hope of putting it into production in Fall 2007.  That will eliminate many of the email issues we continue to have (e.g., Joe Russin's message earlier today).   Are there other modules we should evaluate for inclusion in Fall 2007?  What about the training issues involved?
- Testing that will need to happen to make sure that courses created in old versions don't have any problems being restored into 1.8

...others?  I don't know.

Anyway: these are things to think about in anticipation of Fall.
