I'm not aware of any reported problems.  I'ts possible that we had incidents reported to the Student Help Desk that I didn't hear about, but there certainly weren't any widespread or systemic problems.

It would be helpful to know more details about the problems (operating system, browser, security settings, etc.).  For students who were not able to use chat at all, I would first check their popup blocking settings, as Moodle chat displays in a popup window.  For anyone using chat, the same rules apply as for taking quizzes: moodle.lanecc.edu must be allowed to display popup windows.  For those who got kicked off, it's hard to say why without knowing more about precisely what happened and what error messages they received.  Were they able to immediately log back in and restart their chat sessions, for example?  

I'm cc:ing this to the faculty webmasters in case they have any thoughts, or know of incidents that I'm not aware of.

Hello,

In my Intro to Business online course, students used the chat tool during the term for working on their team projects. Some students reported problems with being kicked off chat, and not being able to enter messages from their computer at home.

Did you have reports of this from others, and do you have any comments/suggestions for future terms? Thanks.
