And here I was hoping we could persuade everyone to use direct punch-card-to-text-box  input methods.  Damn.  :-)

My question was more directly about tables, although it's helpful to have the background issue.  There is also some middle ground between a word process and typing directly into a Moodle textarea (WordPad, TextEdit, or NotePad in the worst case).  But the table example seems to me to illustrate possible problems with Word's penchant for copying formatted input as HTML (unclosed or improperly nested tags, for example).  So I wanted to touch base to see if we had a policy for Text input assignments as well as for Instructor stuff.
