Phil,

Toni Timmers told me that you had some issues with your ECON 200/40340 Exam #3 (the "fatal error" problem).  As Moodle administrator, I've taken a look at the quiz, and unfortunately, the usual fixes that I've employed for this problem don't seem to apply here (typically, it's because an isolated question has become corrupted, but that's not what happened here: if you edit the quiz, you'll note that it seems to only have six questions, when it looks like there were supposed to be thirty).  I think the best strategy in this case is to ditch the existing quiz entirely, as trying to fix the problems would probably require a good deal of work to monkey around with the database, and in the end, it's not clear to me that I could fix all of the problems.

So: I went ahead and created a new (hidden) Exam 3 for you, called "Exam 3 - Supply and Demand - new," which I've put on the same week as your previous Exam 3.  All of the settings are the same, and the questions are derived directly from the same exam in your Winter term ECON 200 course.  So, I think that you should be able to simply set the visibility to true (Update this Quiz > Visible to Students > Show) and let your students take that quiz.  It would probably be a good idea to verify that the settings and the questions are as you want them.  I went ahead and previewed that quiz, and it seems to work fine.  You might want to add the Fake Student to the course and take the quiz as a student, just to be absolutely sure that it works correctly.

I'm sorry that you and your students have had to undergo this inconvenience.  We have seen some problems with random questions this term in a couple of different cases, and I am about to send out a general notice to faculty so they're aware of the issue.  One thing you may want to do is to be sure to preview all tests before you open them to your students, to verify that we aren't getting any errors like the ones we saw this time.
