Hi Meredith,
To be honest, I'm not familiar enough with this to know whether it would work. I'm looking for a pretty traditional solution, where members of the list would receive and reply to messages from within their email accounts -- no need to go to the web or log in to a blog. Would this work?

(I've actually been intrigued by blogs for quite a while, but have never quite figured out how to make good use of them either personally or pedagogically. I've seen others do really interesting and worthwhile things with them, but none of them click with my own style, I guess...still working through that!)

Amy

Amy,
Are you familiar with WordPress? It is the blogging system we support at Lane. It would be housed on the teach server. You would be the Administrator. It would be up to you to monitor (or not) the postings. If you think this may work and you would like to try it out we can set up an account for you.

Hi,

I know this is outside the realm of what's supported at Lane (at least I think it is), but I'm wondering if any of you have advice or suggestions...

I'd like to be able to set up an email list for people at different institutions to talk about technical writing in community colleges. I just tried Google Groups, but it looks like you can only use gmail accounts there, so I don't think that will work. Do you know of any other listerv resources I might be able to tap into?

Thanks,

Amy
