Yes, you are correct on the backup and restore - keep ALL user data. Please put any non-scheduled course under the category of Miscellaneous.

Question-
My colleagues and I have a moodle "class" that we just use for a discussion group (like the moodle for instructors site) - I hope this is legal! - do I back-up and restore this the same way I do my regular classes (but keeping "data"?) to transfer to spring term?
