I agree.  Moodle (or some LMS) needs to be used in my opinion.  As the web form that Julia mentions would not have the access restrictions necessary for access control (in comparison to Moodle which she could: limit to a testing center, password protect and only give the password to a proctor - to log the student in, etc.).

It sounds like that might be the case with the not established logins ... but it could very well be due to Julia not having information on how students get account access to Moodle and that students could easily be added to her class IF they are in ExpressLane.  I feel that the students would already be in ExpressLane, because to apply for the nursing program, students have to have their core courses completed - and I believe students also be admitted to Lane (if they did their core courses elsewhere) - which would mean that they have an "L" number.

So, I would encourage Julia to use Moodle even if the students need to be manually added by the instructor ... as long as the students are in ExpressLane.  If the students have never logged into Moodle, but are in ExpressLane, I would just have the students log into Moodle and then have the instructor add them to the course.

I do not see a way to do this, especially proctored, without Moodle. Moodle is prefect for this type of testing. Is the reason for not establishing a login that they will not have L#'s yet?
Your thoughts? Is there another way I am unaware of?
