When a student drops a a course in ExpressLane it does not drop them out of your Moodle course. You must do that manually. The Moodle messaging system also allows students to have a centeralized email system. Email or messages for ALL their classes using Moodlewill show up when they log in for any of the courses.

To unenroll a student:
1. Go to the people>Participants block on the front page of your course.
2. Choose the student
3. Choose 'Unenroll me from...class

Greetings, Mike:
I teach a Sp 100 Moodle on-line course. I've been checking on a couple of students who have 'disappeared' for a period of time, and logged in as one of them. (Ben Broderick) For some reason, messages from you (as well as messages from me) appear in the upper right hand corner. Not sure what happened here, but have sent a cc to the Moodle masters.

Best, Hyla Rosenberg
