It's back up.  Apologies to your student.  (The last time this happened, it was actually down for about three hours, not eighteen, but unfortunately, in one case, a student didn't get an email response because staff on the Student Help Desk were all out/sick.)

The Moodle site appears to be down. (My student sent the note below an hour or so ago, and problem is still occurring now.)

No worries, I can read anything you post for me on the moodle site. Just to give you a heads-up though, Moodle is down once again. I was going to post my letter of response for the first draft, hopefully it will be up and running soon. This is the second time this message has been up for the Moodle website in  the last week-

 

Error: Database connection failed.

It is possible that the database is overloaded or otherwise not running properly.

The site administrator should also check that the database details have been correctly specified in config.php



Last time this happend it was offline for a good 18 hours. I just wanted to make sure you were aware of this in case it turns out to be a long term problem.
