Thanks, David and Joe, and everyone,

I would never have thought of unenrolling my metacourse students from the child classes, but that worked.  And the groups format does everything I hoped from the idea of splitting the classes, and a good deal more.  I can post to both groups at once by clicking on All Participants, and the other areas of the class are still accessible by all.  I appreciate all your help very much, and look forward to the possibilities of spell check for the word processor and some sort of email system that leaves a better trail, like regular email does.
