Thanks for your fastfastfast reply, Joe.  I'll try it this afternoon.  I thought that was the beauty of how it worked in Moodle..... that you wouldn' thave to post to separate groups.

	When a forum is in separate groups mode, then:

- if you post to ALL participants they can see it, but not reply. Why? Because then the students would see each other's replies in the threaded discussion, and that's not separate.

- if you switch to a group and then post, then your post is marked as being in that group and they can reply normally.

So, for students to be able to reply to your post Beth, you need to click "blackberries" from your dropdown menu on the forum page, add a new discussion, and "post" to that group.  Then you need to go back and choose "raspberries", click add a new discussion, and "post" AGAIN to THAT group.   Now, each student in each of those groups WILL be able to reply to your post, since you did one for each group.

I have groups set up for the first time in my Family Food & Nutrition class and I have posted topics, but I can't seem to get it set correctly so students can reply.  Can you tell me what I have set incorrectly?  I varied the Admin Setting so it says Group Mode or Not and that doesn't seem to affect it and I have Updated the Forum bit about Discussions and replies and that doesn't seem to do it.  The Fake Student is in a group.  I have lookeed at all the "i" but I can't figure it out.
