The only problem with the offline assignment is that  it seems you can't use decimals to give a half a point.  Or am I wrong about that?

The far right tab on your gradebook, the one that says Manage Graded Events, is new in Moodle 1.6 and seems a bit glitchy.  You are the second instructor for which it does NOT work.

Before this tab, instructors could add gradebook columns in Moodle by creating offline assignments.  (Add Activity - Assignment, enter name and max score, then choose OFFLINE activity from Assignment Type at the bottom.)  This would give you a column in which you could enter grades.

This offline assignment is the recommended way to add columns to your Moodle gradebook.

I can't seem to enter scores for graded events in either of my classes and neither Tamberly nor I can figure out why.  I added a "graded event" for the Exam 1 score, entered scores,  Saved, then they disappeared.  I've tried different browsers, both my Mac and the PC in my office, and it happens every time.  I had to come up with a dummy "quiz".  That would give me a column where I could enter scores.  Do I have something set wrong?  
 
One good thing about my solution is I can set the decimals so I can give half points.  When Tam does the exam as a "graded event", it works on her computer to record and save scores.  But it won't lether do half points. Ypu can see my solution under Week 4 FN225-20718 for "Exam 1 score". 
 
Do you think I have a setting wrong?  Tam and I have compared all our settings and we can't see a difference.
