So Jen,
You have a different problem.

You have created separate categories (which assumes weighted grades) but assigned them no weights in the set weights tab.

Since I believe you want to use just points, delete all categories, so that everything goes to the Uncategorized category, which is currently set up to 100% of the weight, meaning, "points".

Your extra credit managed graded events point total was zero, so you can give any point other than zero.  I set it to 10.  Now you can add extra credit points up to 10.  Change it higher if you'd like.  IMPORTANT.  Since you've checked the extra credit box on the set categories tab, these points should not be added to the points possible total.

On the Set Categories tab of the gradebook, you check the "extra credit" box next to the item you want to be counted as extra credit.

Hi there Meredith,

I met with Joe yesterday and he said you were the only one he knew of that was using Moodle's Manage Graded Events feature.  I, too, intend to use it for offline activities, and I think it will work okay.  The one question I had is with regard to extra credit activities.  How do you get Moodle to figure extra credit points into the grade, without the point value being a regular graded part of the grade, if you know what I mean?
