will they be able to use their L number for log in instead of the old original log in?

I think there is a simple solution.

Recall the Moodle site for instructors we used Fall term?  I made a backup (this time including all students and student data/posts) and restored it to the current Winter term as a new course.  Done.

When instructors login, the see everything they used to see.  I believe this will accomplish what you want.

Hi Joe
  I wanted to discuss the use of Moodle with the math department manual. Now that this Moodle site is not kept with all the current sites, math staff are not finding it.
  Here is what I think could be done: 
  Since I am using the topic version (not the weekly version) current dates are not an issue.
  Could I just go into the setting and move this site to the current term (at the end of each term)?   I would also want to keep all the "students" as they are all math staff and don't need to be deleted each term. 
  This way the site would be seen by the math staff who use Moodle. As it current is, it is not seen when they log in.
  What do you think?
