I have a new problem:

For SP218_20304_F06, my students cannot view the grades posted for Exercise #3.  I note that Exercise #3 and Exercise #4 are shaded gray.  How can these be made visible to students?

Also, how can I access "messages" from students once I have opened and viewed them?

ALso, how can I send feedback to students while still having a view of their discussion postings?

Also, sometimes, after working in Moodle, I cannot view Groupwise.  I find that I must log out of Mozilla and start again.  Any ideas?

Joe here.  Work on your courses wherever they currently happen to be.  When Winter Term gets set up (one or two weeks after Thanksgiving), then you will backup and restore them to the new term.

It's easy to do, and every Lane instructor will do a backup and restore for every course they teach every term.

All the courses I worked onduring Spring Term 2006 for Moodle are listed in Summer 2006.  One of these courses I will be teaching for the first time this WInter 2007.  I have already been working on this course.  THe other course I will be teaching WInter term, I have been teaching Fall term as well.  WIll The Fall term class be copied and transfered to WInter Term?  or will the original in SUmmer be copied for Winter term?  or do I need to start from scratch and add new courses as described below to courses in development?

All winter courses need to be created under "Courses in Development". We will send out a message when the server is set up for winter term. See directions below.

As for setting up courses for Winter, you could use the section entitled:

Courses In Development

As for Joe, he indicated that he will be out until:

Friday, October 27, 2006

As such, in the meantime, the way that I would proceed would be to create a course under the "Courses In Development" area. 

Here are the steps.

Login to Moodle
Choose Courses from The Administration Block
Choose Courses In Development
Scroll Down to the Bottom of the Page
Choose Add a New Course
Write in An appropriate Description, Full Name for Course, and Short Name for Course

Later on in this term / beginning of next, when banner sets up your CRN ... and then Moodle Creates your New Moodle Course in Winter based on that CRN, you can then backup the course that you have been working on in "Courses In Development" and then upload it into your Banner created course CRN Moodle class.
