I have done as you suggested, however, I am confused.  In the past, and in the other section, the due date is shown and I checked the box that indicates late papers are accepted (YES).  There was no problem in the other class section with posting late papers.  In addition, before I made the change to show no due date at all, I noted that the late student papers were posted in the evening.  Perhaps this problem is part of the "fix-it" time on Fri.

Another thing I noticed in the same section (40688) is that one student posted a paper (Response Paper #2) and it changed the margins for the 2nd page of assignments so that the "update" button was far out to the right.  I was still able to make it work, however it was very strange.

If the assignment was the Response Paper for Chapter 4,  the deadline was at 9am today.  Since it is after that time, the Edit My Paper button will not show.  You can certainly update the assignment and change this deadline, then all should work.
