Kaaren,

When we first configured the site, we continued using the parameters we'd used from prior terms, partly because that's what instructors were used to, and partly because we didn't have time to do anything differently.  That was true of email as well as some other things.  I'll need to talk this over with the faculty webmasters (we actually have a number of email issues to discuss), but there are many aspects of the improved mail handling that I'd like to see implemented for Winter term, so I'll definitely take a look and see what we can and can't do.

And since this was the first I had heard about the issue from you, at least, it didn't come across as begging.  :-)
