At present, IT is not replacing pc's with 2.8GHz processors.

What are the minimum hardware standards for moodle that you would like to see?

Got me. I don't even really know what a Moodle is. Joe Escobar has told our fauclty that they need newer machines. They are using a 2.8 GHz processors, and 512MGs of RAM.

Here is part of one of their emails.

Tammy Maahs and I have been having an extremely difficult time switching to Moodle. We have been unable to download documents; we have had to cut and paste and then edit documents numerous times. It is taking an inordinate amount of time for us; time that could be far better spent in 'value-added' work. Oh, and our computers continually freeze up when we are in Moodle.
Joe Escobar has been very patient and has tried numerous times to help us. He finally stopped by my office and visited with both Tammy and me. His conclusion: our computers are too old. He says there are several hundred 'Moodling' instructors on campus who are having no trouble whatsoever. I have been so frustrated that I am about ready to 'bag' Moodle and send all of my documents to the print shop. I guess the bottom line is this: How can the college expect us to adopt a new software if we are not given the hardware to enable us to do this? I am DESPERATE. Is there any way I can get a new computer (and Tammy, too....hers is even older than mine).
Respectfully
Jane Batterson

I haven't seen any statements about minimum standards.

The first question I would have is what end of moodle are we dealing with?
Is the workstation supposed to be developing web pages in moodle or reading web pages?
