Hi Dan
I wanted to add scores to the gradebook for an offline midterm exam. I tried to add it as an assignment but points for the grades have to be whole integers, not decimals. I tried to add the midterm as a graded event. Again, the grades had to be added as integers not decimals. there is no setting for decimals for those options. Can a midterm that has been given offline be added to the gradebook as a quiz?

Hi Melinda,

When you create as assignment, quiz, etc. in Moodle, it is at that point that you can specify whether or not to use decimals ... and how many to use.

As a specific example, if you would like to have a quiz,

turn editing on
go to quizzes
select your quiz
choose update quiz
under the quiz settings ... there is an option for Decimal Points
if you'd like to be able to enter 10.75 in the grade book, you can select 2 decimal points

Let me know if you need anything else.

-Dan

Hi webmasters!
How can I enter test scores like 17.5 and 10.75 on moodle? When I entered these scores on edit, grades, the scores were rounded either up or down to a whole digit. Is it possible to use decimals?
